We are currently in search of an Administrative Assistant for Grace Methodist Church of Logan Square in Chicago, IL. This is a long-term, temporary assignment. A potluck after worship the Sunday before Thanksgiving. This potluck has roots back to the 1920’s and has evolved into one of the biggest events of the year at Grace. How would you promote this to the church and the greater Logan Square Neighborhood?

LOCATION: 3325 W. Wrightwood Ave. Chicago, IL 60647

POSITION TITLE:  Administrative Assistant  

Duration: 15 hours/week

SALARY: $15-$20/hour based on experience

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide high level administrative support to Pastor

  • Coordinate and schedule events

  • Prepare meetings, drafting/distributing minutes and agendas

  • Prepare assigned annual reports (including proofreading and draft editing)

  • Phone and email correspondence

  • Provide administrative support to any projects as necessary

  • Work with the pastor to grow social media presence

  • Other duties as assigned

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 1-3 years administrative experience

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • Exceptional organizational skills

  • Ability to handle multiple projects at once

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to prioritize and take initiative

  • Ability to work independently, and in team environment

  • Must be proficient in MS Office; specifically spreadsheets and databases; experience with Sharepoint, WordPress and other web-based tools, and social media a plus
